What to request before testing
Ask for the documentation for the batch from which the sample is provided. If the document relates to another material, the reproducibility of the test is lost.
In advance, identify the properties that are acceptance blockers for the process: colour, softening, uniformity, solubility or other parameters.
- Product name and lot number.
- Test methods and actual results.
- Date of document and link to sample.
Incoming inspection checks
The scope of incoming inspection depends on risk and plant capabilities. At minimum, compare labelling, documentation and appearance; measure critical parameters using the approved method.
In case of a disputed result, it is important to preserve the arbitration sample and fix the conditions for selection and testing.
