Railway vehicles
A finishing layer on previously primed and painted exterior surfaces of carriages and locomotives.

Ready-to-use paint or coating
A transparent finishing material for a protective and decorative coating system. Applied over previously prepared coats in accordance with the system's application procedure.
About the material
Component A is an acrylic copolymer solution; component B is a polyurethane hardener. The clearcoat is described as the finishing layer of a system for exterior surfaces of passenger carriages and other vehicles.
Material selection and the application process depend on the substrate, previous coats and service conditions. Request the current TU specification and instructions before use.
Purpose
The list is based on the AKRYL presentation. Suitability for a specific project is confirmed through technical selection.
A finishing layer on previously primed and painted exterior surfaces of carriages and locomotives.
A protective and decorative finish applied as part of an agreed coating system.
The clearcoat can be requested separately, subject to a compatibility check with existing coats.

These are individual material specifications, not test results for the complete system. Requirements and test methods must be checked against current technical documentation.
Preparation
Specify the enamel, condition and elapsed time since application of the previous coating.
Mix the base and hardener according to the current TU specification immediately before application.
Confirm gloss, thickness, drying and appearance using the selected system.
| Component B | AKRYL 2K PU Hardener, TU 24.72.28-056-49740748-2025 |
|---|---|
| Thinner | PU Akryl, TU 20.30.22-055-49740748-2025; no more than 15 % by mass. |
| Mixture preparation | Stir the base and hardener separately first. After mixing, allow 10-15 minutes before application. |
| Application | Air or airless spray; a brush is permitted on areas smaller than 1 m². One coat with a dry film thickness of 20-30 µm. |
| Conditions | From +10 °C; relative humidity no more than 80 %; surface temperature at least 3 °C above the dew point. |
| Intercoat drying in a multi-coat procedure | The manufacturer's instructions specify 8 h; agree the need for an additional coat and the conditions for the selected system. |
This information is taken from the manufacturer's materials and does not replace the current application instructions. Request them for the selected material and project before application.
Theoretical consumption is given for the specified coating thickness. Actual consumption depends on application methods and conditions, roughness, object geometry and process losses.
Specify the object to be coated, substrate material, service conditions, required colour, area and application method. We will clarify technical documents and supply terms.
Questions
The VNIIZhT conclusion evaluated a four-material system, including the clearcoat. A different procedure cannot be treated as equivalent to the tested system.
Yes. For separate use, compatibility with the previously applied enamel must be checked.
Universal compatibility is not claimed. The specific system must be checked.
The presentation specifies 20 : 8 by mass for this clearcoat.
The presentation specifies at least +10 °C, humidity no more than 80 %, and substrate temperature at least 3 °C above the dew point.
Airless and air spray are listed, with a brush also permitted on areas smaller than 1 m². The specific method depends on the system and finish requirements.
The presentation gives a theoretical 60-80 g/m² for the specified thickness. Actual consumption depends on the application method, surface profile and losses.
